Day Thirteen: Free Day In ABC; Preparations for Carry to Deposit Today, after a leisurely breakfast, Mario and I prepared our backpacks for our carry to the deposit before the start of the glacier. We basically packed everything we would need to establish and stay in camp. Not exactly a light pack, but this will save us from being tired at the start of the penitents and snowfield to Camp I when we go directly from Base Camp to Camp I. When we do establish Camp I, we plan on sleeping there that night and then establishing Camp II the following day, and returning to Base Camp. In the evening, it began snowing quite a bit and we began to worry a bit about our early morning departure tomorrow. We will have to wait and see what the weather has in store for us. |
