Day Forty: Italians Begin Trek Down to Kathmandu

This morning, after bidding the Italians goodbye, Mario Panzerri and I worked on organizing base camp starting with our respective tents , then the mess tent, and toilet tent. The platforms for all had decayed tremendously while we were higher up on the mountain. The two of us adjusted well to our now nearly empty base camp. We asked the cook for dahl baht and rice for lunch, a welcome change from all the Italian food we have been eating; both Mario and I like the local food alot. After lunch, we went through the drums of food with the cook to get an idea of how much food we had left; it was plenty. After a dinner of momo and vegetables, we went to bed.
