Day Eighteen: Urdukas to Goro II

Today, Hughes ad I woke up before 6:00am thanks to some very loud porters who decided to congregate outside our tents. We packed up our things as our tents were being torn down around us by the eager porters, then headed to breakfast. We ate our usual eggs and chapatti with green tea, then began he short walk to Goro II. We had heard estimates of 5 or 6 hours going around camp, but as I suspected, my memory of four hours didn’t fail me. I arrived first, followed closely by Hughes. We sat in our respective tent spots, reserving them while we awaited the arrival of our tents. Once these were up, the clouds that had formed during the night yielded light showers. The Italians, Hughes, and I piled into our mess tent, had some soup, listened to some music, and chatted for a few hours. We had a chilly dinner and headed to bed. We plan on going to Broad Peak Base Camp tomorrow, then continuing onto K2 base camp, a short hour walk from Broad Peak BC.
