Nicholas Rice (Los Angeles, United States)

Nicholas Rice was born in Hermosa Beach, California in 1985. He has been climbing for thirteen years focusing mainly on alpine and rock. Nick climbed his first 8000 meter peak in 2004, Cho Oyu in Tibet, ranked 6th in the world. He knew the sport was for him when he arrived on the summit just 3 hours after leaving Camp III. Nick has been climbing in Pakistan the past three years with a 2005 expedition to Gasherbrum I and II, a successful solo climb of Gasherbrum II in 2006, an expedition on Broad Peak in 2007 which he led followed by a solo expedition to Shishapangma in Tibet. He is intending to climb Mount Everest this coming spring, then flying over to Pakistan in the summer of 2008 to lead another expedition on Broad Peak. More Information
